Progress: A Song of Stars

Been hard at work on A Song of Stars. My editor challenged me to create a timeline for ASoS to map it out and ensure I'm hitting the key moments and beats I wanted. So I spent the better half of this afternoon tidiously digging through my book and pulling out scenes, making notes on the timeline, and doing research to ensure the event/scene lines up with events and locations wihtin Japan, specifically Kyoto.
It's been a multiple hour event today, but its really cool to see it laid out like this. I think I'll do something similar with the other book I'm working on as well.
Now, I know on several of my earlier social media posts, I had promised to get A Song of Stars out by Fall of 2026, and on more recent posts mentioned the push back to 2027. My editor and I have been hard at work ensuring that this book is in the best condition possible before releasing it to readers including participating in Alpha reader coordination (Thanks to Interleaf Ink for that), and making a few updates to the structure of the book such as switching it from third-person omni to first person with both Haruki and Rosalie focused-POV chapters.
Because of these shifts and adjustments, it pushed the timeline out. But, I'm thrilled to make these changes because it not only gets the best book possible into your hands but honors the story of these two star-crossed lovers.
Can't wait to get it into people's hands soon. Aiming for Fall 2027.
